Julia Walker is a Certified Farrier through the AFA, based out of the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. She serves the North and West Metro areas. Julia graduated from the Minnesota School of Horseshoeing in 2021, and received the Rising Shoeing Star Award from the American Farrier’s Journal in 2024. She specializes in hunter/jumper, dressage, trail, endurance, and pleasure horses, with a broadly English riding focus, and has a special enthusiasm for minis, ponies, and donkeys. Julia also apprenticed under Mark Thorkildson, and has worked under and alongside many other farriers. She also substitute teaches at the MN School of Horseshoeing, and is working on passing her CJF exam.

Julia maintains a full book of clients, and is generally only taking on new work via referrals. If you are looking for a new farrier, you may certainly reach out - if Julia cannot do the work herself, one of her many farrier friends might be up to the task.
